COVID-19 Vaccination

Currently, Magenta Health is not offering COVID-19 vaccinations directly at our clinics. However, both of our co-located pharmacy partners, Queen East Medical Pharmacy at Beaches and Viva Pharmacy at Midtown, offer COVID-19 vaccinations at their pharmacies.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE IN ONTARIO?

Eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines in Ontario changes rapidly and can be quite nuanced based on the individuals circumstances (e.g. age, health conditions, timing of previous doses, previous COVID-19 infections, etc.). To ensure that you have the the most accurate information, please check out the following websites for details on eligibility and COVID vaccine roll-out in Ontario.


WHERE CAN I GET A COVID-19 VACCINE?

Please see the following list of websites for locations that may be offering COVID-19 vaccinations. This is not a comprehensive list, and there may be more options than what’s listed here. Please closely review each site’s eligibility criteria before booking or going to the clinic. Note that while most locations require an appointment, some may offer a walk-in option.

Where can I get more information about the COVID-19 vaccines?

Can I get my COVID-19 vaccine at Magenta Health?
No, unfortunately. At this time, Magenta Health clinics, are not offering COVID-19 vaccines. We will update this page if that changes.
However, both of our co-located pharmacy partners, Queen East Medical Pharmacy at Beaches and Viva Pharmacy at Midtown, do offer COVID-19 vaccinations.


Is there specific vaccine information for infants/children/youths?
Yes! Visit the Ministry of Heath or Toronto Public Health’s infant, children and youth vaccine pages for more information.

SickKids Hospital has an online learning hub called About Kids Health with information about COVID-19 vaccine and kids.

Scarborough Health Network offers VaxFacts+, a telephone vaccine consult service with doctors to discuss a wide range of vaccines, including COVID-19.


Which vaccine should I get?
Our recommendation is to follow the publicly available guidelines as laid out by the various government agencies and public health authorities (see links provided under general).


What about Booster doses?
Please see the Ministry of Health and Toronto Public Health’s websites to learn more about the guidelines for COVID-19 vaccine boosters. These websites also includes information about the Updated COVID-19 Boosters.


I have allergies, can I still get a vaccine?
Please the appropriate section on Toronto Public Health’s website for more information about COVID-19 vaccinations and allergies!

Where can I find information about the COVID-19 vaccine and those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or looking to get pregnant?

Where can I find our more information about COVID-19 vaccines if I have I’ve already had a COVID infection?
See the relevant section on the Toronto Public Health for the details on vaccination after a COVID-19 infection. Another resource is the appropriate section on the National Advisory Committee on Immunization’s (NACI) page.


Do I qualify for a medical exemption to COVID-19 vaccinations?
Please review this webpage for more information.


Where can I download or print my COVID-19 vaccination dose certificate(s)?
Visit this Ministry of Health’s website to download and/or print your COVID-19 vaccination certificate. It is recommended that you bring this certificate, if possible, with you to any future vaccine appointments.


If I got my COVID-19 doses outside of Ontario, is it possible to “register” this information in Ontario somehow?
Yes, and we recommend that you do! If you have received any doses of the COVID-19 vaccine outside of Ontario, you should contact your local Public Health unit to let them know. Your local Public Health unit will enter your vaccination details into the provincial system. Please be ready to provide some sort of documentation.

For those who are in the Toronto Public Health unit, you can use their webpage to submit your information.

While alerting your family physician to your vaccination status is also important it is not substitute for informing your Public Health unit.
